What is an accessible website?

An accessible website is one that allows all visitors – whether they have a disability or not – equal access to information and functionality. In December 2013, new regulations to the Law for Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (1998). Clause 35 in these regulations relates to guidelines for making internet websites accessible in Israel.

The Northern Goals Association Website

Our website meets the requirements of the international standard for web accessibility WCAG 2.0 at level AA as defined by the W3C body, and adheres to all sections of the clause on accessibility for service.

The website is built on the content operating system WordPress, which is considered to be a highly accessible system.

Compatibility

Language: The website is accessible in Hebrew, English and Arabic. However, due to translation limitations, the Hebrew version is updated more regularly.

Operating system: The website is compatible for use with Windows, Linux and IOS.

Platforms: The website is available on all platforms – computer, tablet and smartphone.

Browsers: The website is compatible with the following web browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Explorer, Safari, in each browser for the current and immediately previous version.

Assistive Technology

The website is accessible as is, or if needed, can be viewed with screen-reader or magnification software.
