The Amazing Race in Kiryat Shmona

As part of the summer program of the Kiryat Shmona Warm Home for girls, a competitive activity based on “The Amazing Race” reality show took place. The girls, divided into two groups and guided by the staff, competed against each other. The race track has led the teams to various locations in the city such as the market, shopping mall, football field etc. The race lasted for five hours, while the finish line was at the Golden Park.

Competition drove the girls to work as a team, to listen to each other, to consult and reach a solution together and trust each other. The race had contained moments of joy, excitement, frustration and fatigue. Dealing with such range of feelings had therapeutic effect. Alongside with attending enjoyable and challenging experience, the competition revealed more layers in the girls’ personalities and deepened the relationship with the team.
